The stories we witness here at Rainbow Chan Weddings, one of the top wedding planners and coordinators in Toronto, are among the most beautiful and touching storylines that one could witness. And in planning and coordinating these heartwarming tales of love and adventure, our planners and coordinators can’t help but be proud to play a part in helping make these very touching dreams come true. Such was the case with one of our favourite couples this year, Ivy & Leon, a wonderful Chinese couple who tied the knot just this past summer on June 11th, 2017 in a wonderful wedding ceremony and reception held at Toronto’s historic Casa Loma, among our planners and coordinators’ most favourite venues to work with. A truly emotional and personal wedding day, with classical cultural Chinese ceremonies paying tribute to Ivy & Leon’s shared heritage, to the wondrously enchanting aesthetic of Casa Loma and its surrounding greenery during summertime making for the most perfect wedding day scenes, Ivy & Leon’s special day would be ever-the-more special with help from our planners and coordinators from the earliest morning moments to the long hours of the evening’s celebrations. So join us as we recall just how wonderful Ivy & Leon’s summertime wedding day had been; a brief review of Ivy & Leon’s unforgettable wedding day memories, a few words on the stunning and historic Toronto landmark of Casa Loma as an exemplary wedding day venue, and finally, a review of our planners and coordinators’ design choices for Ivy & Leon’s truly breathtaking wedding day.

Planning and coordinating Ivy & Leon’s wedding day began on an impeccable summer morning, with our planners and coordinators arriving at the morning’s venues, between Ivy & Leon’s humble abodes, to set up the floral décor, hand-picked wedding day furnishings and all the aesthetic arrangements to craft a genuinely remarkable scenic wedding day adventure for Ivy & Leon. From the morning’s setup between the bride and groom to be; tearful morning meetings with parents and loved ones, the humble sharing of tea during the traditional Chinese tea ceremonies, and the ever-exciting Chinese door games, every moment shared with Ivy & Leon made the planning and coordinating genuinely worth every bit of effort to pull off perfectly. And between the morning’s preparations, the heartfelt exchanges with family and friends, all the memorable scenes shared with bridesmaids and groomsmen, and the truly spectacular wedding ceremony altogether, every moment thus far made planning and coordinating Ivy & Leon’s wedding day an honestly lively and magical experience from beginning to end.

For Ivy & Leon’s choice of wedding day venue, our planners and coordinators had chosen, with the ever-eager bride & groom, the historic Toronto landmark of Casa Loma, a gorgeous gothic revival estate nestled lovingly in the heart of Midtown Toronto. Built between 1911 and 1914 as a private estate, and sequentially passing on its stewardship to the present proprietors, Liberty Entertainment Group, Toronto’s historic and iconic Casa Loma has been a favorite for many couples as a romantic retreat; and makes for a particularly popular wedding day destination during the summer season. Built in a gothic revival style, with its overarching architecture playing a centrepiece role in Toronto’s midtown district, and the lovely grounds surrounding the estate proper, Toronto’s Casa Loma was a genuinely superlative venue choice for Ivy & Leon, as well as being a true favourite for our planners and coordinators. A historic venue for a timeless love story. Holding their traditional Chinese tea ceremonies and door-games at the homes of both bride and groom, the beautiful Casa Loma estate would make its mark for the wedding day as playing centre-stage for Ivy & Leon’s ceremony and reception, alongside its breathtaking exterior as the perfect setting for Ivy & Leon’s photo and video-taking with bridesmaids and groomsmen. All in all, an excellent and historic site for a wedding day that’s one for the books.

And finally, a look back at our planners and coordinators’ stylistic and thematic choices for Ivy & Leon’s wedding day; and what essentially made our work on the blessed couple’s unforgettable day truly shine through. Our design goal for Ivy & Leon was the interplay between two pivotal sources: Ivy & Leon’s shared Chinese heritage and the cultural importance of family and tradition, and the classic and evocative style of elegance and romance that’s a perfect fit for a wedding day held at the Casa Loma, an altogether emotionally moving style which blends culture and heritage with class and elegance. Between the brilliant red and gold palette that would form Ivy’s morning wardrobe and would be an essential theme during the Chinese traditional tea ceremonies and door games, to the balance between softness and sharpness as outlined by the bridesmaids and groomsmen alongside Casa Loma’s gorgeous gothic revival theme; the beautiful blending of these two essential themes, and having these delicate design choices come to life made planning and coordinating Ivy & Leon an altogether remarkable and memorable wedding day experience.
And so, in short, we here at Rainbow Chan Weddings and Events, Toronto’s premier wedding planners and coordinators, had an absolutely wonderful time working with Ivy & Leon on their marvellously magnificent and altogether humbling wedding day. Our planners and coordinators were truly touched to have had the chance and played a part in making Ivy & Leon’s special day even more special through our diligent design choices and planning expertise. In the end, we here at Rainbow Chan Weddings and Events wish Ivy & Leon nothing but the best in their lives and future together, and hope that our work with the two truly becomes one for the history books.
