For Rainbow Chan Weddings and Events, being one of the top wedding planners and wedding coordinators in Toronto carries with it many satisfying perks. And among all of them, nothing is more satisfying than a job well done at the end of the day. For Rainbow Chan and her team, that would be a happily wedded couple at the end of what has been one of the most magical days of their lives; due in no-small-part to the talent and hard-work by the cast-and-crew that help make these magical moments possible. Seeing the progress for a planner in planning and coordinating a wedding day from start to finish and pulling off every little miracle possible to make the magic happen is one of the most awe-inspiring aspects of being a planner and coordinator of a wedding day ceremony and celebration. So for us here at Rainbow Chan Weddings and Events, working with Ekaterina & Jesus on their ever-beloved wedding day just this past May 26th, 2017 with a ceremony and celebration at Toronto’s chic and ultra-modern Malaparte event space care-of Oliver & Bonacini Events, was all part-and-parcel of playing a role in making dream-like wedding days come true for couples all throughout Toronto and the GTA. So join us as we recall just some of our favorite parts of working with Ekaterina & Jesus on their most special of days, an overview of the spectacular venue, and our very own stylistic choices that help made Ekaterina & Jesus’ wedding day one for the ages.

From a wedding planner and coordinator’s perspective, Ekaterina & Jesus’ wedding day was quite a hectic one; with all the excitement and liveliness one should expect out of such an enormously important day. From our arrival at the bride-to-be’s pre-ceremony setup in the morning to the early hours of the following day, every moment of planning and coordinating was special for us. In particular, for a wedding planner and coordinator, we were very lucky with the weather! For a spring day in Toronto, not a drop of rain and plenty of clear skies for a perfect wedding day. For the morning’s preparations and entourage scenes, we made sure to include both greyscale and full colour shots to emphasize the sentimentality of the morning mood. Among our favorite scenes were – of course – the first look, which took place at the historic Osgoode Hall at the heart of downtown Toronto, the assorted scenes with the bridesmaids and groomsmen around Toronto’s University Avenue, many beautiful pictures of the ceremony and celebration at the modern and upscale Malaparte event space, and most spectacularly, the unforgettably romantic scene of the couple’s first dance at the end of the evening. Taking place atop Malaparte’s rooftop patio terrace with the entire cast and crew of Ekaterina & Jesus’ special guests cheering the newlyweds on with bright sparklers as the couple danced to all their heart’s content as the night hours grew long and their magical wedding day would come to a truly magnificent ending.
A few words about Ekaterina & Jesus’ choice venue; one of our favorites thus far. That would be Oliver & Bonacini’s Malaparte event space in beautiful downtown Toronto. And with such an opportune location for our planners and coordinators, the Malaparte truly makes-do with what it’s worth by capitalizing on the gorgeous terraced views it has at the heart of Toronto’s cityscape overlooking King Street West, and right under the auspices of the ever-iconic CN Tower. Malaparte offered Ekaterina & Jesus’ wedding ceremony and celebration a truly modern, chic and lively cityscape vibe, which, from a planner and coordinator’s perspective, made for incredibly magical moments like the evening rooftop first-dance possible; and fit perfectly with our couple’s wishes for their wedding day to have a vibrant, modern and chic setting.
On to our style choices for Ekaterina & Jesus’ wedding day. Rainbow and her team’s overall stylistic choice for the couple centred on the trendy design style of 2017; greenery in a modern landscape. Our work focused on the playful interaction between shades of pale white and differing types of green; all in all a clean colour palette contrasted with greenery throughout, accentuating the motif of being chic, trendy and fashionable. With use of lily white floral furnishings and bouquets that adopted light colour combinations, we kept the overall colour palette splendidly clean and spotlessly bright altogether. Bridesmaids and groomsmen played a part in the palette creation as well, with shades of aquamarine and light green reflected in their wardrobe choices. The natural contrast between our chosen light colours and the fullness of bright and dark colour sources provided by the imposing thematic of the downtown Toronto cityscape made for a brilliant stylistic combination care-of our planners and coordinators; again capitalizing on the perfect venue location using the skyline for the backdrop and the rooftop as a focal point of the event.
All in all, we here at Rainbow Chan Weddings and Events, Toronto’s premier wedding planners and coordinators, had a spectacular time working with Ekaterina & Jesus on their truly unforgettable wedding day. We were very glad to have had the creative opportunity to truly make a spectacular urban wedding theme with Ekaterina & Jesus, and we are exceedingly pleased with how our planners and coordinators’ design choices turned out and how much the beloved newlywed couple enjoyed the day and the fruits of our work. We wish the two a lifetime of happiness together, and hope that our work with them on their wedding day continues to inspire and amaze them all throughout the way.
