A smile, a laugh, a sentimental moment, something to share with the generations to come. These among many special things is what makes our work here at Rainbow Chan Weddings and Events, one of the top wedding planners and coordinators in Toronto, such an inspiring and motivating factor for our planners and coordinators every day. And no wedding could be more inspirational for our planners and coordinators than our recent work with Helen & Nelson on their wondrous wedding ceremony and celebration just this previous May 21st, 2016 with morning setup and cultural ceremonies held at Toronto’s Delta Hotels, a scenic photoshoot session held at Scarborough’s Guildwood Park, and the grand ceremony and celebration set at Scarborough’s historic Guild Inn Estate just by Guildwood Park and steps away from Toronto’s lakeshore. A truly jovial couple with genuinely infectious smiles, Helen & Nelson couldn’t help but radiate all throughout their special day together, which made for a perfect opportunity for planning and coordinating the perfect wedding day celebration for such a magnetic and magnanimous couple. Between the morning’s setup, to the couple’s traditional Chinese tea ceremony with family and friends, to an emotional first look which would culminate to an astounding ceremony and celebration to close the evening, Helen & Nelson’s wedding day was a picturebook scene from start to finish, and was a delight for our planners and coordinators to work on. So join us as we recall some our most treasured memories of planning and coordinating Helen & Nelson’s wonderful wedding day, an overview of the couple’s excellent wedding day venue choices, and a brief review of our planners and coordinators’ very own stylistic and design choices which made Helen & Nelson’s wedding day one full of smiles, laughs and sentimental moments from beginning to end.

Our work in planning and coordinating Helen & Nelson’s wedding day began on a gorgeous spring morning at the Delta Hotels Toronto with our planners and coordinators setting up the floral furnishings and assorted decor for Helen & Nelson’s big day. Between the morning’s preparations, to the traditional Chinese tea ceremony shared with family and friends alike, to the ceremony and celebration to complete Helen & Nelson’s wedding day, every single second was special for us – as realized opportunities to make the couple smile from ear to ear on such a sentimental and significant occasion in their lives. Planning and coordinating the wedding day themes and styles, especially that of the morning’s cultural ceremonies, was a big part for us; choosing the perfect palette to compliment the couple on their most special of days. Indeed, one of the most memorable parts for our planners and coordinators was seeing the door games and tea ceremony unfold to a joyous communal and cultural celebration of Helen & Nelson’s love for each other, and the couple’s family and friends partaking in such joyfulness with their own smiles and laughter, sharing the good vibes all throughout.
For Helen & Nelson’s choices of wedding day destinations; the Delta Hotel in Scarborough is always a welcome venue for our planners and coordinators for morning preparations and ceremonies. The couple’s choice of the Guildwood Park for mid-day wedding snapshots was a perfect spring season choice, as a special wedding day snapshot of Helen & Nelson sharing a kiss under an umbrella was a heartwarming scene on a windy spring day. And for the historic Guild Inn Estate, a beautiful two-story residence in the Guildwood neighborhood of southern Scarborough, now part of the Greater Toronto Area, our planners and coordinators were pleasantly surprised at how spacious and picturesque the venue and associated estate would be. With an open-concept ceremony and reception hall overlooking a gorgeous view of the estate’s courtyard, shimmering chandeliers and a spacious ballroom setup which would be the centre stage of the couple’s first dance, an impressive tango ending with the newlyweds sharing a kiss to the applause of the crowd. All in all, an altogether remarkable wedding day venue for our planners and coordinators that served as a historic backdrop to a historic day in Helen & Nelson’s lives together.
And finally, a look back at our stylistic and design choices that made working with Helen & Nelson on their unforgettable wedding day worth every moment spent, and what made the couple’s most significant and sentimental day all-the-more special and beautiful. What our planners and coordinators had aimed for with Helen & Nelson was a blending of the chic and modern with the cultural and traditional; reflecting Helen & Nelson’s shared Chinese heritage, we had the couple in traditional attire for both the morning’s ceremonies and the unforgettable ballroom dance and evening celebrations, with Helen’s shimmering red and gold Qipao as a centrepiece to the wedding celebration. Floral bouquets of lily white, carnation pink and subdued violet shades made for a soft and airy palette to match the bridesmaid dresses, and the prominence of greenery – of leafy green arcs and tabletop ornaments juxtaposed with the silver and light gray theme surrounding them made for a curiously comforting and altogether satisfying thematic palette for Helen & Nelson’s reception. And with an evening which included a traditional Chinese lion dance performance, our planners and coordinators couldn’t help but be satisfied at this perfect blend of East and West.
