The team at Rainbow Chan Weddings was thrilled to have the opportunity to plan the fabulous wedding of Stephanie and Felix at the Doctor’s House in Kleinburg, Ontaro. This late summer celebration took place on September 2, 2018. Planning and coordinating their dreamy, romantic and family oriented wedding day was an absolute delight for our team. Stephanie and Felix are a fun loving couple full of personality! We loved incorporating opportunities for silliness and laughter into their itinerary. This day was truly memorable for the couple and wedding guests alike.
Preparations for this full-day celebration started bright and early! Both bride and groom spent the morning getting ready at their family homes in Markham, providing some wonderful memory-making opportunities. Meanwhile, our coordinators headed over to the venue to oversee the setup of all of the wonderful décor elements, including lovely pastel-coloured flowers – perfect for summer! Back in Markham, after everyone was ready, the bridal party met up at the bride’s family home for the always exciting Chinese door games and the first look. After having some lunch, the whole group headed to the venue for some photos. The traditional Chinese tea ceremony followed, which is always a wonderful opportunity for the family and relatives to bond before the larger ceremony and reception. The chapel at the Doctor’s House venue provided the most charming ceremony backdrop, complete with lanterns and summer blooms. The gorgeous, window-filled reception space complimented the light, airy feel of this summery colour scheme flawlessly.
The venue selection was flawless for this family-oriented, intimate summer wedding. The Doctor’s House in Kleinberg is just a stone’s throw from Toronto, but it feels like another world. The endless greenery, flowers, century-old architecture, classically beautiful chapel and stunning reception rooms make you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time; which makes sense given this venue dates all the way back to 1847. Our coordinators and planners love working in spaces with so much history and character.
The Rainbow Chan team decided that the reception space design should accentuate the room, which is why décor was kept fairly minimal. Our planners were careful to ensure that the décor echoed the feel of the venue and the entire wedding – light, airy, traditional, summery. Organic style florals in pastel colours were used along with white linens to showcase the sun-filled space. Each place setting was topped with two macarons and a place card, complete with hand-written calligraphy. Our team of coordinators wanted each guest’s takeaway to match the charming wedding aesthetic.
Rainbow Chan Weddings wishes nothing but happiness to Stephanie and Felix as they being their life together! It was a privilege for our team to be part of their charming, family oriented wedding and we hope they’ll look back on it fondly for many years to come.
