The team at Rainbow Chan Weddings was thrilled to have the opportunity to plan the fabulous wedding of Fiona and Aaron at the beautiful Toronto landmark, Casa Loma. During midsummer celebration took place on August 24, 2018. Planning and coordinating Fiona and Aaron’s wedding day was an absolute delight for our team. Our wedding planners were responsible for bringing the whole day together, creating the itinerary and making sure everyone stayed on schedule.
Preparations for this full-day celebration started bright and early. Both bride and groom spent the morning getting ready with their nearest and dearest at their family homes. Photographers from Purple Tree captured some heartwarming moments of the getting ready process with the couple’s families, including Fiona and Aaron’s adorable puppy! Both Fiona and Aaron are of Chinese heritage, so Fiona had two stunning looks for her wedding – one was the traditional Chinese dress, and the other was her beautiful white wedding gown. Once everyone was ready, the Chinese door games were held at the bride’s home – always a fantastic way to integrate tradition into the big day! After the door games, everyone settled in for a low-key family lunch. which would be followed by the traditional tea ceremony for the bride’s side and then the groom’s side. An outfit change into the stunning white gown followed and the whole bridal party departed for Casa Loma. The first look in the white dress followed, as well as some bridal party and couple photos on the breathtaking Casa Loma grounds.
Meanwhile, the Rainbow Chan wedding coordinators were busy at work setting up the beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception spaces at Casa Loma. This opulent affair was adorned by over the top cherry blossom and white blooms courtesy of Royal Orchid. This outdoor ceremony was straight out of a fairytale. The long aisle leading away from Casa Loma into the gardens is so magical. Our wedding planners loved watching each member of the bridal party take the walk towards the ceremony. The aisle was completely covered in petals, and the arch was stunning and ornate, decorated with thousands of pink and white blooms. Guests were seated on both sides of the altar, so the bride and groom were surrounded by love! Our team adored this elegant setup.
Post-ceremony, the Rainbow Chan team led the family photo session, which was followed by an outdoor cocktail hour and eventually the reception, located in the glass pavilion. The combination of round and banquet tables with varying centerpieces created lots of visual intrigue in this space. We loved the combination of delicate baubles, tall and short floral arrangements and tons of candlelight. The head table was a true stunner, with an impressive pink and white backdrop and at least ten beautiful floral arrangements. A charming macaron favor topped off each table setting. The tall and luxurious centerpieces combined with the glass walls and castle backdrop created a stunning aesthetic for this one of a kind reception.
This reception flawlessly balanced elegance and fun! We loved how this bridal party performed a surprise dance for everyone in the room. SDE Weddings showed the “Same Day Wedding Video” which is always a highlight! Our wedding planners adore this heartwarming part of the evening. A guest Q & A game concluded the dinner portion of the evening, and then guests danced the night away underneath the uniquely beautiful Casa Loma façade.
Fiona and Aaron’s wedding day was an absolute joy to plan! We loved the elegance, tradition and unique touches. The Rainbow Chan wedding planners love to work with couples to incorporate tradition and fun surprises into their wedding days. We adored the end result of this love-filled day, and wish nothing but happiness to Fiona and Aaron as they begin their life together! It was a privilege for our team to be part of their wedding and we hope they’ll look back on it fondly for many years to come.
