At Rainbow Chan Weddings, we love meeting our new couples and getting to know them as we help plan their wedding. Mindy and Damian were one such couple, who both displayed such kind and gentle natures and were an absolute pleasure to work with. Their story began with young love, as they met eight years ago in the hallways of their high school. Many years later, as their love for one another grew, Damian proposed to Mindy over an intimate homemade Christmas dinner and the rest is history. Our team of Toronto Wedding Planners had the privilege of working closely with Mindy and Damian, discussing themes, designs, venues, and everything from the first look to their exquisite traditional Korean Ceremony. Let’s take a look at some highlights from their special day.
Mindy and Damian’s wedding took place on the gorgeous summer day of June 30th 2019. Mindy and her bridesmaids began their day with warm coffee, a good breakfast, and much joy and laughter. Their hair and make-up commenced at 8:45am and the groomsmen began to get ready themselves. At 1:00pm, the bride and groom shared a special first look, as they peered around the doorway and gazed into each other’s loving eyes. A photo session then commenced, as they all made their way to the venue in Burlington Ontario, taking place at Spencer’s at the Waterfront. This was the perfect location, as it complemented their theme and vision. With floor to ceiling windows, the light poured in, offering an abundance of natural sunlight and creating vibrant color throughout the room. This held modern architecture, clean lines, long wood paneling reaching across the ceiling, and a large open-concept space. Their backdrop was a breathtaking view of the lake and their overhead archway was made of eucalyptus and a variety of soft greenery. Mindy and Damian’s wedding was full of class and elegance. Their chosen color palette involved soft pinks and natural greens – pastels and light airy colors. Their wedding style was romantic, with a mix of modern and classic. Mindy and Damian’s vision for their wedding was warm, casual, intimate, and to be surrounded by loved ones enjoying themselves. As the wedding day moved forward, this was exactly the atmosphere one could feel. Their ceremony was at 4:30pm. With sunlight bursting through the windows, our bride Mindy walked down the aisle to her soon to be husband, wearing a stunning white halter wedding dress and carrying a bouquet of cream and pink floral blooms. Her bridesmaids stood beside her, wearing long, elegant, and rosy colored gowns. The bridal party looked romantic and timeless. Soon after was a Korean ceremony, held at 5:15pm. One could feel that love was in the room, as everyone celebrated the two families becoming one. A pair of wooden duck carvings were given as a wedding present, representing peace, commitment, and plentiful offspring. The table cloth was red and blue, representing the yin and yang energy and both the family and newlyweds wore beautiful ceremonial robes. Both ceremonies represented tradition, culture, and most of all, love. The evening dinner was held in the same room – flipped for reception and fine dining. As the sun began to set, the bride and groom shared their first dance together, swaying through the soft evening light. The evening was full of laughter, celebration, and life-long memories. Our team of Toronto Wedding Planners, here at Rainbow Chan Weddings, were honored to play a role in making Mindy and Damian’s wedding dreams come true. It was a pleasure to work with this couple and we wish them a lifetime of love and happiness together.
